CrazyLacy

Lace is Great.
As far as lighting goes, its a really interesting material...it has a.......history about it, and also physically it has the ability to create some incredible shadows when combined with the medium of light (in a certain way..)
Here are some of the lace pieces i've done. The first pic is real..from the Rose St Markets.
Some of the others are virtual.

It can be a bit challenging in so far as how you work the material...epoxys and resins are pretty toxic.
I nned more space in my meagre shed to work this stuff too.

mine not mine

This is my first piece at ISM - called the Big Mouth. It's mine, but not really. I designed it at ISM. So technically its theirs?? It uses a laser cut AluminIum extrusion and a internal reflector.
I think it was way too complicated for my first light , but I was playing with idea of exploring the boundary of the 3D laser cutter.

It's quite complicated internally and has some pretty tight tolerances, but it worked..after lots of work!!
Originally it was going to be done from a square profile, but somehow it got roundeded.
Its a good light coz it uses only a compact fluro lamp..energy conscious like.
Gloss white finish only..other colours available on request.
Get them from www.ismobjects.com.au
Wall light version coming soon.
